Lobi "Colonfigure", Ivory Coast

Lobi "Colonfigure", Ivory Coast; heavy, hard Sankolo wood. We collected 5 sculptures of this carver, all male figures were so-called "Colon" Figures. We suppose, that this carver is performing Africans in the shape of Europeans with the signs of a French Policeman or Soldier. A sculptural expression, which we know from Kilite Noufe. But this carver is - according to our information - dead for a long time and his sculptures are probably from the time before the Ivory Coast was independent of France.
