A Yoruba bowlkeeper

A Yoruba bowlkeeper, Nigeria, seated on a four-leg stool, with a vessel on her lap, decorated on top with a lizard, four colourful painted figures standing on the circular base, a metal blade on the forehead, which correspondences with the sacrification patina on the chest of the female figure; reddish, dense wood, partly with small age-cracks or repairs in the face and on the legs of the figures.
