A female Lobi sculpture of the Bonko region, probably from a workshop around Youl Bolare, standing on fragmentary legs slightly bent. openwork arms in a bent position, with tapering, triangular breasts, a thick neck is supporting a deproportional large head of oval form with almond-shaped eyes surrounded by high-arched brows, a small slit-mouth beneath a slender nose, framed by small semicircular ears; hard, light wood, varied brownish patina with remnants of kaolin.
This sculpture belongs to a workshop, which is described in several publications. But like many sculptures of the Bonko region, which came up to the market subsumption to a certain carver is difficult, if we don´t have more exemplars for analysis.
