A single-headed Urhobo drum, Nigeria, standing on three legs of which each is decorated with a crocodile in relief, the large resonating chamber of the drum shows a bird, a tortoise, a gorilla and varied depictions of snakes, on the body are strings of twisted plant fibres attached, the upper covering consists of leather; hard, heavy wood, an old patina of use with traces of white and back pigments, several cracks and a hole in the leather.
