A male Ibibio sculpture in a proud pose sitting on the back of a chair with the feet on the seat of the chair, flattened knees, holding a sabre and a small head in one hand each, the belly bulging, the shoulder blades drawn together, on the long neck sits a round head with a flattened facial plate with an ornament above the root of the nose, rounded forehead giving the impression of a knight’s helmet, abstracted ears, a crested coiffure iroquois-like; dark aged patina stressed by frequent ritual use, signs of age.
