A male Baule sculpture, from the region Sakassou, standing on an oval base, muscular legs ending in prominent buttocks, accentuated genitals, a slender torso with a pointed navel, emphasized pectoral muscles and nipples, sloping shoulders leading to arms carved close to the body, wearing three rings around each upper arm, large hands touching the abdomen, the toros is decorated with rhomboid scarification marks on the front and the backside, the elongated neck supporting an ovoid head with striated goatee, a mouth with full lips beneath a broad nose, high arched brows, almond-shaped eyes which are bordered all around, large ears with a prominent tragus, further scarfication marks on the cheeks, temples, above the nose, on the forehead and on the neck, the head capped by a striated domed coiffure with two ponytails at the back; blackened patina, traces of age and ritual use, several cracks.
